John is a 26-year veteran of Orthopaedics and related surgery business segments within the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on Greater China over the last decade. John played a key role in the development of Stryker Pacific by initiating and developing the orthopaedics business segment, building on the foundation of a sales and marketing organization and developing a group of loyal customers to rapidly grow the business. Since 2005, he has been based in Shanghai with Greater China responsibility, managed Aesculap business, and extended his expertise from orthopaedics to neurosurgery, cardiology, vascular surgery and general surgery. In addition to achieving all management KPIs year on year, he has also been dedicated to new market entry, and merger and acquisition projects.
Dr Lewis has more than 20+ years of medical device development, basic science research and clinical care. He recently served various leadership roles at Amedica Corporation – areas included product development, regulatory, clinical, operations and business development. Prior to Amedica, Chad was the Engineering Manager of the Salt Lake City Co-Innovation group within IMDS (now Coorstek Medical) providing strategic consulting to orthopedic OEMs on a wide range of medical product development services and technology licensing deals. At IMDS, Chad led several consulting projects with a variety of responsibilities including product development, business development, intellectual property, regulatory, quality, operations and product management. He was a post-doctoral fellow at University of California – San Diego Bioengineering Department, prior to entering into the medical device industry.
He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, where he was the lab manager for the Colorado State University Biomechanics Laboratory responsible for performing numerous industry sponsored pre-clinical projects. Prior to studying Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University, Chad was an oncology-infection disease nurse at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado after receiving his B.S.N. from the University of Northern Colorado.
